Frequently
Asked
Questions

What is the first step?

After our phone consultation, we schedule a one-hour evaluation at the location where you most notice your dogs behavioral issues. This allows us to observe the dog’s body language as we talk through the behaviors that you’d like to see addressed.

How long is my dog in the program?

It’s a minimum of two weeks but three weeks or occasionally a month is recommended for highly reactive, aggressive or anxious dogs. The time can be expanded if we need additional time to work through behavioral issues.

What will my dog be doing each day?

Your dog will be on a tight routine each day that allows them to know what to expect and adapt to the surroundings. They’ll receive 3-4 hours of training each day as well as crate time to decompress along with two scheduled meal times. Three meals available upon request.

Will my dog think I abandoned it?

Although it will be an adjustment for your dog, we treat our dogs like family. Additionally, you’ll send their favorite toys, blankets and food along to help them feel at home. Don’t be shy to give us a call or text if you want more updates, we can even schedule a FaceTime!

Will my dog be exposed to other people and animals?

Yes! We have cats, chickens and pigs on our property as well as the owner’s two dogs, in addition with the other board and train dog also any other dogs who may possibly be boarding at the time. In addition, we train your dog by taking them to parks, on walking trails and to multiple dog-friendly stores such as The Home Depot to work on real world implementation for the things they are learning.

Am I able to see my dog while it’s at the board and train?

No, it’s important for the dog to learn in a new environment but you will get updates throughout their stay with us.

Do I also get training!

Yes, that’s a very important part of your dog’s success. At the end up the program, we’ll meet for a session where you and any significant caretaker in the dog’s life will learn how to work with your dog. You also have the option to have a monthly training session after your dog goes home.
